Mpura as popularly known by his stage name is a South African rapper, fashion designer, and record producer. He was born and grew up in Soweto, Gauteng, South Africa. He went to “Highlands North Boys’ High School”.

Before he became popular and famous in the music industry, he was into fashion and founded Mpura Designs, a unisex street-style brand. He made his South African Fashion Week debut In 2018, showcasing his Autumn/Winter 2019 collection.

Mpura and Busta 929 featuring Lady Du, Reece Madlisa, Mr. JazziQ, and Zuma released a single titled “Umsebenzi Wethu” on December 11, 2020. The song took up the number one spot on the local iTunes charts and was certified platinum.
