Lojay goes by the name “Lekan Osifeso Junior“. The entertainer is a Nigerian and was born on 28 April 1996, he is popularly known by his stage name “Lojay“. Lojay is from Ogun State, Nigeria, and is Yoruba. The singer is a Nigerian musician, singer, songwriter, and performing artist. He is the son of Otunba Lekan Osifeso (father).

Lojay is a graduate of the University of Portsmouth, the UK in 2018. His family lived in Ikorodu and then in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria.  Lojay’s mother was a pastor, Osifeso. He goes to church regularly, as a family routine during his formative years. Lojay was a fan of Chris Brown and as well as one of his favorite singers while growing up.

He got his stage “Lojay” by abbreviating every first of his full name “Lekan Osifeso Junior” (LO-J). The singer loved music and singing as a child and he picked much interest in music and started pursuing his passion through his teenage years. Lojay is talented and fluid with a genre of music. He does different genres like Afrobeat, Afropop, Amapiano, R&B, etc. When he was in an interview with Nataal, he said “I don’t have a genre and I’m not going to put myself in a box just because people expect it. Anybody that wants to put me in a box is free to do so, As long as you are jamming and enjoying the gbedu (song), you can call it anything you want. If I Switch to rock tomorrow, nobody should fight me.”

He began his musical career professionally in 2016 on a part-time basis while he was still an undergraduate. After obtaining his degree he later went on to focus solely on music.

Lojay released a single titled “Ariel” in 2019, and the next year 2020, he released another single titled “Ogogoro“. Between his initial temporary time in the music industry in 2016 and the release of his breakout songs in 2021, Lojay has dropped several singles, including “Along, KuliKuli, Over the Bar” amongst others.  DJ Neptune featured him and Zlatan Ibile on the song titled “Only fan” In November 2021.

The singer is in the top 10 peaks on the U.S. afrobeats songs chart billboard where he peaked at number8 with his song “Monalisa” featuring ‘Chris Brown and Sarz‘. His music is among the most played afrobeats song on”Shazam” according to ‘Cool FM Nigeria and Not Just Ok’.
